Sergei Tarakanov and Svetlana Abrosimova were introduced as ISBC ambassadors


During the official draw and press conference of International Student Basketball Cup the torunament's ambassadors were introduced to the public. 

Sergei Tarakanov is a retired professional basketball player, Master of Sports of the USSR, international class, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR and 1988 Summer Olympic Games champion.

As a member of the senior Soviet national team (from 1979 to 1990) Tarakanov also won: 3 gold medals at FIBA EuroBasket (1979, 1981, 1985), the silver medal at EuroBasket 1987, the bronze medal at EuroBasket 1983, the gold medal at the 1982 World Championship, the silver medal at the 1986 World Championship and the bronze medal at the 1980 Summer Olympic Games.

Svetlana Abrosimova is a retired professional basketball player, Honored Master of Sports of Russia who is now a general manager of the Russian women's national basketball team.

After a standout collegiate career, which included an NCAA national collegiate title in 2000 (UConn), Abrosimova was selected in the first round by the Minnesota Lynx during the 2001 WNBA Draft. Abrosimova is also a WNBA champion (Seattle Storm, 2010).

As a member of the Russian national basketball team she won a bronze medal at 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, two silver medals at World Championships (1998, 2006), two gold (2007, 2011), two silver (2005, 2009) and a bronze (1999) medal at European Championships.
